Di Di Da...

Driving down the street,
As the sun goes down,
I'm driving fast, I'm driving fast;
I'm leaving town.

When we were ten,
We were a gang.
We ran we laughed, we played.
And there was a song we sang-

Di di da do di da da da...

A few years later,
We were a band.
We strummed, we jammed, we sang.
We ruled our land.

Jerry lost a leg;
Mickey left the gang,
And Jimmy started hating it all,
So alone, I sang-

Di di da do di da da da...

Sitting by a river,
Away from the noise.
We talked, we talked, oh yeah!
Man! I loved her voice!

And finally came the day,
When we gave and took a ring;
Jerry, Jimmy, Mickey, all were there,
Together did we sing-

Di di da do di da da da...

Happy times were they,
But they didn't last long.
A little over six years from then,
The knell rang a gong!

So here I am,
Leaving town. So long!
Thank you for the many days,
And thank you for that old song-

Di di da do di da da da...

(This song was written together by Adarsh Yagnik, Nilanjan Banerjee and me.)
